“What’s on your desk?” is back by popular demand. We may not all have corner offices with beautiful views, but nearly everybody has a way of making their office space their own. This is how Brandman University staff and faculty make their spaces special.
Sarah Mosley’s office has no windows. But the financial aid analyst and staff development officer’s third-floor office is surprisingly cheery and welcoming. The bulletin board next to her desk is covered in pink paper and family pictures. Mosely says she incorporates brightly colored decorations and photos of her travels to energize her workspace, located in the financial aid suite at Brandman’s central office in Irvine.
Mosley is kept company by her mascot, Henry. She says the bow-wearing, rubber-rat has adorned each desk throughout her career. Traditionally a Halloween decoration, Henry is a year-round fixture that reminds her to stay true to herself. Mosley also displays plushies given to her by friends, showing her affinity for Japanese subculture. She says her desk and office are “… a true reflection of me. Quirky and unique with a dash of cutesy.”
